We want everyone to be able to use this site. This page says what we have done and checked, what we know is still not good enough, and how to tell us when something doesn't work for you.
The standard we aim for
We aim for WCAG 2.1 level AA on this website (get.klidpiano.com). We have not had it audited by an outside specialist, so we don't claim to meet it in full.
What we have done and checked
- An automated check (axe-core 4.14) of the home page, the Privacy page and the Terms page, at desktop and phone size, found no problems on 8 October 2026. Automated checks find only part of the problems, so this is a floor, not proof.
- Everything can be reached and used with a keyboard, there is a "skip to main content" link, and the focus is always visible.
- Text colours over the moving background at the top of the home page were measured against the real picture behind them. The headline and body text meet the contrast ratio (4.5 to 1 for body text). One small label above the headline measures 3.7 to 1 against the single brightest speck behind it, and 8 to 1 over most of its width.
- The moving 3D piano and the video clips never start with sound. There is a "Pause animation" button for the piano and a play/pause control on every video. If your device is set to reduce motion, the piano stays still.
- Buttons and controls have names that match what they show, and messages such as "check your inbox" are announced to screen readers.
- The comparison table can be scrolled sideways by keyboard on a small screen.
What we know is not good enough yet
- No test with a screen reader by a person yet. We have not listened to this site through NVDA, JAWS or VoiceOver, so there may be problems the automated check cannot see.
- The example videos have music and no speech. Each has a written description of what you see, but no audio description track.
- The Klid app (klidpiano.com) is a visual tool: you watch notes move over a keyboard and edit a timeline. Most controls work from the keyboard, but some timeline and 3D-view actions need a mouse or touch, and the 3D scene itself has no text equivalent. We are working on this, and the app has its own privacy and terms pages.
- A few small controls in the app are smaller than the recommended touch size.
Tell us about a problem
If something on this site or in the app is hard or impossible for you to use, email hi@klidpiano.com and tell us what you were trying to do and what got in the way. If you use assistive technology, say which. We reply as soon as we can, usually within a few working days, and will fix what we can or suggest another way to do what you need.
Changes
We will update this page when our checks or the site change, and show the date above.
